Writer Grace Collier witnesses a murder in the apartment across the courtyard. Unfortunately for her, the very police force she accused of racism and corruption in her editorials refuses to conduct an actual investigation because she is the key witness. They’d rather bash her credibility and watch a murder scene get erased right in front of their eyes.
We Summon the Darkness is a throwback slasher film set in the world of heavy metal. Alan Trezza’s screenplay is well researched. The language, references, and religious-fueled panic are all accurate to the late 80s. The dialogue has a great rhythm to it and a sense of believability.

It makes me so happy when I get to praise a long-running game for finding ways to improve. Chapter XVII: Descend Beyond, Dead by Daylight’s newest DLC, is one of the best DLCs the game has ever released. It’s on the level of Chapter V: A Lullaby for the Dark, which gave us Huntress, and Chapter XIII: Stranger Things, which gave us Stranger Things content and proved expanded the world to allow non-human killers.
