Sundays: Cannonball Read Catch-Up, Charity Event
Sunday's will usually be dedicated to Cannonball Read entries. Today, I've been a bit busy trying to get the loose ends tied up for a charity event in July.
For those who have been following me a long time, you might remember that my cousin passed away suddenly over the summer. Our family is now running a softball tournament and raffle in his name on July 11 to raise money for the New York Organ Donor's Network and PS 85 in the Bronx, the school he taught at. PS 85 is using the donations we collected at his funeral and their share of the softball/raffle proceeds to improve and expand their library.
The softball game is basically set to go. His hometown has donated use of the playing fields throughout the day and we've had to turn teams away due to time and facility limitations.
The issue we have right now is getting donations for the raffle. If anyone reading this is connected to a business or organization that might be able to contribute to our charity event, I would appreciate it if you could contact me for information on the event. We have a tax ID number in place for charitable donations and will accept anything for the raffle.
Thank you for your help.
