Announcing Tick: A Short Musical

See this content in the original post

Happy Halloween, everyone. I have a special treat to share with you.

I’ve been working on a quite a few projects during quarantine and the first one is ready to be revealed.

Introducing Tick: A Short Musical. This is an original short horror musical inspired by Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Tell-Tale Heart.” It’s actually part of a longer anthology horror musical called The Sublime Method that I am trying to make available as soon as I can.

You can listen to the score at Soundcloud or right here.

Tick is the first product available in my new Ko-fi shop. Right now, you are able to purchase the Libretto/Vocal Book, the Demo Recording, the Instrumental Tracks, and a Reference Package combining the Libretto/Vocal Book and Demo Recording at a discounted price. Sheet music will be available soon. Everything is DRM free and one copy can be printed or shared with your cast or classroom if you wish to perform the show.

The show is available to license for public performance. You can contact us at editor@sketchingdetails.com for more information.

I will say, as a theatre educator, I am often frustrated by how restrictive the rights can be. You have full permission to use Tick in your classroom for study. You do not need to buy multiple copies to share with your classroom.

Tick is written as a two person show with one singing and one non-singing role. Gender expression, race, and ability should not be a limiting factor in any theatrical environment. You are encouraged to cast whoever you think will play the role the best in your production. You are free to change pronouns to match how you want your actors to play the part; the script is written with they/them. Furthermore, you have full permission to change the keys to any song to best fit your performers. While I personally can’t think of a way to add an ensemble to this show, you are more than welcome to add more performers to your production if it fits your vision of the show. A license is only required if you will be charging for admission. Educational discounts are available.
