In my recent studies, I've seen the suggestion of working pastels on an easel so there is no temptation to blow dust everywhere. The unexpected benefit was me stepping away throughout the process like I was working on a ceramic piece or large prop. Carnival of Souls, one of my favorite horror films, has now turned into one of my favorite art pieces so far.
