I wanted to do a landscape and I figured H.P. Lovecraft was good inspiration. This is my interpretation of The Blackness from the Stars, a sentient mass of ancient darkness that can communicate but chooses just to consume living mass. The quotation is from "Polaris," as I couldn't remember just where in the canon The Blackness from the Stars resided.
