Day 3 of Drawlloween is a goblin. I did some digging around last night and discovered that the Chinese equivalent of a goblin is portrayed as a birdlike-humanoid. The motivation and behaviors are the same--protective force, mischievous, collecting small objects. The appearance is different and, to me, far more intriguing than the withered little humanoid concept.
