Here's hoping.

Year OneIMDB, Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic - Dear Lord, why does this film exist?

More After Jump

The Proposal - IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic - Dear Lord, why can't Betty White get good films? What does she do, kick puppies and drown kittens?

Whatever Works - IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic - Apparently a new Woody Allen film is opening today. Who knew?

Dead Snow - IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic - Two words: Nazi Zombies. Five more: my pick of the weekend.

Away We Go and Food, Inc are expanding and magically have marketing budgets. Yay.

Also opening: $9.99, DJ Spooky's Rebirth of a Nation, The End of the Line, Irene in Time, Superstar, Under Our Skin, Windmill Movie

Sketchy Rec: Because of her much expected and well received win at the Tony Awards, I cannot get Angela Lansbury off my brain. How about revisiting her in a strange minor masterpiece called The Company of Wolves? She is sensational in this warped werewolf/fairy tale/coming of age/dark fantasy hybrid film about a young girl undergoing a sexual awakening through a dream. The practical effects are some of the best you will ever encounter, even if one performance is so distractingly bad it brings down the film. If you want to think of a more modern comparison, this film is everything The Brothers Grimm could and should have been.
