Opening Today: 26 June 2009
Awful Michael Bay Action FilmTransformers: Revenge of the Fallen - IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic - What difference does it make? You're all going to go see it anyway, then bitch about the poor quality and how awful Megan Fox and Shia LeBeouf are. I give up.
More after the jump:
My Sister's Keeper - IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic - I never thought I could support this film, but it had to go and be placed against Transformers. Never say never, folks.
Cheri - IMDB, Rotten Tomatoes, Metacritic - If nothing else, Michelle Pfeiffer is allegedly stunning and Oscar-baity in this film. That, alone, is enough to make it my pick of the week.
And the glut of tiny films in limited release: Afghan Star, Died Young, Stayed Pretty, Exploding Girl, Girl from Monaco, Hurt Locker, Life is Hot in Cracktown, Quiet Chaos, The Stoning of Soraya M., Surveillance
Side Note - If anyone still hasn't gotten the memo on that Bat Boy audition I did, I learned quite quickly from the group's regulars that the company is very insulated and doesn't like to cast people on a first audition for them if they can; apparently, making it until five minutes before the callbacks meant they really liked me but weren't willing to pass me the goblet and chant me into their exclusive circle. Fine. I'll just be slumming it at one of the many, many open Rent auditions in my area till I get cast. It's bound to happen with at least 5 productions in a one hour radius auditioning over the next two weeks. There's only so many 20-30 year olds capable of singing that score in the area.
Sketchy Pick: Just stay home and read a book. You'll be saved the disppointment and the crowds.
