What You Missed: RuPaul's Drag Race: Season 3, Ep. 7

This…was not a great episode. It wasn't bad, just not great. The theme was cake couture and the queens didn't excel or fail enough to make a difference. Ru did, however, impersonate Tyra telling her contestants that he was so inspired by a photo shoot he had to share the life-changing experience with the girls.

Inspiration

Carmen won the nude photo shoot challenge (a non-event except for Delta making fun of Carmen for always being naked) and she got to dole out the inspiration for the main challenge. The girls have to make cake-inspired couture.

Cake? CAKE!

The girls are given an extra twist inspired by the Food Network where they have to create a Barbie cake representation of their drag persona. The girls camp it up for thirty seconds then go back to sewing their dresses.

A Piece of Cake to Make a Piece of Cake

Stacy created a two-piece red velour outfit for red velvet cake and shouldn't have even been in the bottom two, but she got kicked off.

Red Velvet

Yara became a strawberry shortcake and should have won the challenge (I sound like a broken record).

And Delta Work channeled Reese Witherspoon at the end of Pleasantville with this ginchy ensemble of angel food cake.

I hope the upcoming episode that has Raja dressed as Carrie White, complete with bucket of pig's blood, is A)next week and B)a lot better than this. The Untucked, however, was 20 minutes of queens fighting each other over semantics and doing what drag queens do: read.
