Fourth Annual Cinefessions Summer Screams Challenge – Sketchy Details' List

FINAL LIST It's that time of the year again. Our friends over at Cinefessions are hosting their Fourth Annual Cinefessions Summer Screams Challenge. This is now a summer institution at Sketchy Details, as I've competed every year this contest has existed. You can join me, too, by signing up at the Cinefessions site.

Basically, it's a contest to watch as many horror and science fiction films as you can in June. Each week there is a theme worth twice as many points (so if you watch The Fly during the Sci-Fi/Horror Genre week, you get 2 points instead of 1). There's a checklist of 30 items that nets you 30 extra points if you complete it, and an optional checklist of an additional 5 items related to the genre that gets you an extra 5 points each.

The big change this summer is TV no longer counts. So sad. I loved getting double points on amazing shows like Serial Experiments Lain on cyberpunk week. Oh well. I guess I'll actually focus on sci-fi for once instead of sliding into my horror that's close enough wheelhouse this year.
