We're two working weeks away from Halloween and, in typical fashion, I'm not done yet. In atypical fashion, I've had a solid display up for quite a while and it gets to stay up through the big night. The new additions to the graveyard, for example, just need to flip around to face the house, not the road, for the final display concept.
I'm actually not that far behind on cutouts, either. Now that all the tombstones are done, I can bang everyone else out by the weekend. I did finish Maurice, one of the Bottlefly Boys, and got the base colors down for Parent, from The Last Halloween. Parent just needs inking/black detail and she's done.
I also put Ringley and Mona & Shirley/J.D. & Dogman (on the flip side of Mona & Shirley) back in the yard. They, along with parent, represent the crossover element from The Last Halloween to Broodhollow.
And, they're not out yet, but they soon will be. I covered the old carnival turned disco DJ booths in gray fabric to pull them into the correct color palette. They get some painted accents--windows, doors, signs--and go up as the streets of Broodhollow, blocking out the graveyard from street view. Mona, et al., are positioned in between buildings. Large and small bats alike, plus all the Broodhollow characters, will fill the rest of the space.
And a full view of the yard so far. It's looking good.
