Watch: Among the Sleep Gameplay Footage

Think about the things that frightened you the most as a child. Would you give them a second thought now? For some of us, the answer is no. We had silly frights created by an overactive imagination and lack of understanding about how the world works. For others, the answer might be yes. Just because you were a child does not mean you didn't experienced something that could scare anyone. Game developers Krillbrite are banking on a mix for both in their upcoming PC/MAC game Among the Sleep. You take control of a two year old wandering around their home late at night. It's a first person survival horror game where you crawl, duck, climb, and walk your way through obstacles that might not even exist. via Kotaku

Ok, the kitchen ripping itself apart and flying at you as soon as you walk is not imaginary. This house is haunted and it wants to destroy you.

The child-height perspective on the actual gameplay footage is engaging. I originally thought "How scary can this be?" Then the child climbed out of the crib and I swore I saw a person standing in the doorway. Turns out it was a giant vase reflected in the moonlight.

I know horror games aren't a genre for everyone. This one might even be too extreme for my tastes. I'll still pick it up, sure. I just don't know if I can explore that world from that perspective and not completely psych myself out. I mean, it's been almost 10 years since Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem came out for the Nintendo GameCube and I still haven't finished the entire thing because it freaks me out.

So what about you? Are you brave enough to play a toddler in a survival horror game? Or will you just tuck yourself in extra tight tonight and hope you forget all about it? Sound off below.
