Happy NaNoWriMo, everyone! Have you gotten your first 1667 words done yet? I'm going to start mine in a little bit. Want to friend me on the NaNoWriMo site to yell at me when I skip a day of work? Go ahead. I have a lot of fun stuff planned this month at Sketchy Details. For one thing, we're thoroughly in Oscar season. Now that the 31 Days of Horror have passed, I can focus on reviewing all the award-hungry features I can get to. Well, once NJ has power again. Could be a couple days before Argo, Flight, and Cloud Atlas get their due.
I'll also be wrapping up my NYCC 2012 coverage. I have a few more big features planned and just need to get past NJ's rescheduled Halloween (I'm getting trick or treaters either Saturday or Monday, not sure which yet) to really focus in on the fandom of it all.
There are a few local events I'm considering doing coverage of this month. I might also launch a new project of interest to the horror/sci-fi fans of this site. Then there's the one video project I just need to jump into and get going on while the going is good. Something new will pop up by the end of the month, for sure.
Speaking of features, I don't know what happened to my webcomic plugin, but it went AWOL when I had to work off an iPad for two weeks. I have to fix it, reload all the content that was already published, and reschedule everything else. Bad setbacks are bad.
The Facebook page is going to be getting new content. I'm about to unveil the Movie of the Month with a glorious new banner.
Miss the Link Rally feature? I had fun doing it, but it was becoming a chore of diminishing returns. You can follow my online recommendations over at Nerdtainment.
Of course, if you follow me on Twitter and GetGlue, you'll find out all about what I'm watching/reading/mocking all the time.
What are you looking forward to in November? What would you like to see Sketchy Details cover? Sound off below. Love to hear from you.
