Animal Crossing: New Horizons Review (Game, 2020)

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is one of the newer Nintendo franchises, first appearing in the transition period between the N64 and the GameCube. You play as a villager, who moves into a new town and is quickly put in charge. You catch fish and insects, gather fruit, dig for fossils, and collect supplies to build new things for your town. You interact with your neighbors, all human-size talking animals, building relationships that strengthen your community and open up more opportunities.

Cadence of Hyrule: Crypt of the NecroDancer featuring The Legend of Zelda Review (Game, 2019)

Game developers Brace Yourself Games are responsible for the 2015 rhythm game Crypt of the NecroDancer. This roguelike rhythm game combines traditional dungeon-crawling adventure gameplay with music to create an experience that was described in many reviews as a musical Legend of Zelda game. You fight through various levels of a dungeon, battling enemies by moving towards them on rhythm and collecting powerups and weapons to help you on your journey toward the big boss fight.

Epic Games is Launching Its Own Digital Game Store in 2019

It’s a wonderful time to be a PC gamer. Steam gives you access to thousands upon thousands of games in a one stop shop for digital downloads. That’s on top of the still thriving browser game industry (even seeing a resurgence with all the .IO sites, like slither.io or agar.io), proprietary sellers like Ubisoft’s UPlay or EA’s Origin, and smaller competitors like Itchi.io or Humble Bundle offering DRM-free downloads. Steam is still king because of ease of use and variety of games.
